OK, the word dynamic has never been attributed to my personality. But this website continually changes. Especially on the pages under the My Practice tab, I’m continually rearranging and tweaking the pages there.

But I’m also more actively “tagging” my posts and moving away from a Category paradigm (but my older posts aren’t robustly tagged). Beginning with posts from this weekend on, if you click on the tags at the bottom of a post it will bring up a page containing ALL posts with that tag.

At the top of that particular page you can do several additional things. There is an RSS icon that lets you subscribe to a “feed” for that tag. If you subscribe to it then anytime I post using that tag, the post will show up in that feed.

And there are also links to the particular del.icio.us page containing what everyone has tagged at del.icio.us with that tag. I tend to bookmark and tag a lot more pages regarding the Philippine energy sector than I actually post about. Check out my del.icio.us bookmarks by tag here.

Similarly, there are also links at the top of that page to Flickr and Technorati pages of everyone’s posts or images containing that tag. Here – try it out for my tag wesm.

Dr. David Weinberger talks here about:

… getting past the cult of expertise, moving instead to a view of knowledge as social.

That means showing work in progress and capturing the discussion during and after publication.

We need way more of this in the Philippine energy advisory sector.

Way down in the last paragraph of this brilliant piece that I pointed to on Mamutong, Jeff Jarvis notes:

Smart opinions are not delivered fully formed; they are enriched by the conversation.

In these pieces Jarvis and Weinberger are both talking about more blogging (both behind and beyond the firewall) – linking, listening, entering into conversations – by professionals; putting ideas out there and seeing how they and your own opinions stand up or change under scrutiny, feedback, and the benefit of more information.

In solving our power sector problems, the fundamental issues we must focus on are social, not technical. And this practice (Asian Energy) is hacking away at it.

If I post a file, edit a file, post a note or edit a wiki document – it shows up in the RSS feed (and they receive an email notification too).

I love my little search engine (access it from the My Practice tab on my website).
Frankly, I tend to default to Google search a lot, but the Asian Energy Search Engine produces some cool results. For example, a search on Cepalco pulls up pics as well.
Here’s more about it.
