Boy, I just haven’t had time to work at this – since no one is paying me to do it … yet. Eventually I would like to “crowdsource” this rate case. One of these days we’ll do that on a tariff filing at ERC. I can imagine that we would set up some type of forum area where anyone, including but not limited to intervenors, could discuss the case and detailed issues involved.
I was in Tacloban all last week (getting paid!) and missed the first evidentiary Hearing for Luzon held on March 3.
In the meantime I’m just going to dump to the internet the initial set of data files Napocor has provided in this proceeding (officially known as ERC Case No.. 2009-005 RC) for base rate increases in grid-connected areas of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
You can grab the files here.
For starters, I took the Luzon daily generation dispatch file and made a couple of charts. I’m presuming this is total generation at the Napocor plants – including both energy sold to Napocor customers and energy sold in the WESM (but I don’t know that for a fact). I also don’t have information on what energy Napocor purchased in the WESM. So the load in the files supplied by Napocor may or may not (probably not) add up to Napocor sales load.
The following chart is aggregated by fuel type and shows the average daily generation for 365 days of 2007 (i.e. the chart is representative of daily energy, not daily peak MW output of the plants).
You can see the heavier hydro output in the latter part (wet season) of the year.
The following chart is the same except that it shows each day’s output as a percent of the total output on that day.

These files are embedded in the spreadsheet for Luzon which you can grab at the link above.
