My public database of Philippine Generating Plants is getting some attention from me, finally. I’ve cleaned up problems - there still exists some. For example, its not totally complete yet and I know that I don’t have the Tongonan geothermal field total capacity right yet.

I’ve added a couple of helpful columns for links to information on other sites. One is a link to the CARMA database entry for the plant. One of the nice things about the CARMA database is that it embeds a Google map of the plant location. Nice.

The other column addition is a link to the ERC Directory entry for the plant - giving the owner information including contact information.

Plant names are a problem. A number of plants are referred to by differing names - not all of which you will see in the current database. Not sure how best to address that. Also, capacity data is always a problem.

The DOE also maintains a database here. I started with the DOE data but as (non-proprietary) information comes into my hands, particularly more granular data, I insert it into the database. Feel free to edit or send me updates/corrections.

Don’t put too much reliance on this database. Use it as indicative or, more preferably (as I do), as just one of a number of resources for this type of information. Lists of generating plants are a little like truth itself - there’s no single version.
