Freddie Puno who served as President of Napocor during the Estrada Administration, as I recall, has been named President of what was formerly Mirant Philippines by the new owners Marubeni Corp. and Tokyo Electric Power.
Marubeni and Tokyo Electric have formed a joint venture company called Crimson Holdings Corp. to control the assets. Puno is a know entity to Marubeni – I believe he is currently (and may simultaneously keep the title of) the President of San Roque Power Corp. in which Mabubeni owns 42.45%.
Interestingly, Tokyo Electric’s domestic competitor Kansai Electric is Marubeni’s partner in San Roque with a 7.5% interest.
