Alfie totally scoops me on this one – Mirant enters the retail supply business in the Philippines.
Although I don’t know the current state of their retail supply operations in the U.S., I do know they have been involved in it for a long time. I can only presume that their access to U.S. expertise in this area has the potential for cleaning the clocks of GN Power and Meralco if they don’t do some serious hiring.
I wrote here about what retail competition looks like to me – which is nothing that I’ve seen yet here in the Philippines. Will Mirant change that?
