I sat in on Nothern Luzon Electric Cooperative Association’s (NELECA) monthly meeting that was held, unusually, in Manila yesterday.
Man, the coops have a lot going on. Lots of open issues. I can tell that yesterday’s meeting was a valuable opportunity for many of the coops to catch up on issues and ask questions of Manila-based colleagues - issues that quite literally change by the day - many specifically related to their coop, some generic to cooperatives nationwide.
Internet-based discussion boards and weblogs would seem to me to open up a era in the widely-dispersed cooperatives’ abilities to deeply and comprehensively interact among themselves on a daily (hourly?) basis - and therefore mobilize and act at a speed we’ve not yet seen in the industry.
It’s not yet clear to me what’s keeping them back from this.
